Do you know that nothing can separate you from the love of God? There are several ways God shows His love to us and neither our past nor present can separate us from His love as shown in Romans 8:35-39.
The love of God is unlimited because there is no stop button to His love. God loves us unconditionally and this is why He sent His only begotten son to die for our sins and whosoever believes In Him shall not die but have everlasting life (John 3:16).
We were destined to be doomed forever but the love of God in Christ Jesus gave us eternal life.
Nobody on earth can love us the way God does. There will be times people, especially those we rely on the most will disappoint us and this makes us question their love but God’s love remains unquestionable.
The way God shows His love is so beautiful and He can go through unimaginable lengths to prove to us that He loves us deeply. John 15:13 makes us understand that there is no greater love than this.
It is also not that we loved Him but He loved us first (1 John 4:19). We should show God’s love to others as instructed in 1 John 4:7-8 because when we do so it shows that we are children of God.
In this article, we will explore 17 amazing ways God shows His love to us.
What is God’s love?
The love of God is exemplified on the cross of Calvary. From John 15:13, we are made to understand that there is no greater love. This type of love is sacrificial and everlasting. God loves us irrespective of our race, gender, social status, age, past etc.
Does God love everyone equally?
God loves everyone equally because He didn’t send His only begotten son to die for a particular set of people but He sent Him to die for the sins of the world (John 3:16-17).
Hard times can make us feel like God doesn’t love us but He does. He loves all of us so dearly and nothing can separate us from His love as seen in Romans 8:35-39.
Live in the consciousness that God loves all of us equally and He doesn’t love me more than you because out of His love for humanity He desires that all men are saved.

Biblical examples of God’s love
1. Story of Paul
Paul, whose name was Saul, got converted on his way to Damascus in Acts 9:1-22. In this scripture, we see how he had an encounter with God when a light shone around him from Heaven.
The light from Heaven made him blind but after God used Ananias to heal his sight, the scales from his eyes were removed and he got baptised.
From verse 20, he went about preaching in the Synagogues that Christ is the Son of God. The people were amazed as they began to doubt his intention.
Paul persecuted people who called on the name of Jesus Christ in Jerusalem but because of the love of God, Paul got saved on his way to Damascus.
2. Story of The Adulterous Woman
In John 8:1-12, we can see how the Scribes and Pharisees brought a woman caught in adultery to Jesus and set her in their midst. They expected Jesus to condemn her and punish her greatly but rather He responded to them in love.
Jesus’ response to them in verse 7 was “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.”
After the accusers left Jesus with her alone. This was their conversation below:
He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?”
She said, “No one, Lord.”
And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”
Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
This is God’s love explicitly displayed here and this is how God loves us regardless of our mistakes and flaws. Instead of condemning us for our actions, He responds to us in love.
3. Story of the Prodigal Son
The parable of the prodigal son is another example of God’s love as is shown in Luke 15:11-32. In this story, there were two brothers whose father was very wealthy. The younger brother demanded his share of the property and ran away to squander the money with his licentious living.
After a few years, he came back home to be one of his father’s servants and instead of his father rejecting him, he gave him a very warm welcome.
In verse 20, we can see how his father ran to him after he sighted him from afar off. The son thought the father was disappointed in him but to his surprise, the father threw a big party to welcome him.
“For this, my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.” His father said.
This beautiful story is a picture of how God loves us and has been waiting for us to return to Him. When we go back to God He doesn’t reject us; rather He is filled with so much joy and throws a party for us in Heaven. There is more joy in Heaven over one sinner that repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons, who need no repentance (Luke 15:7).
4. Story of the Samaritan Woman
This account is narrated in John 4:2-28. It started with Jesus telling a Samaritan Woman to give Him a drink and the woman was shocked at His request because the Samaritans have no affiliation with the Jews.
During their conversation, Jesus told her that whosoever drinks the water He gives will never thirst because it springs up to eternal life (John 4:13-14). As they spoke further Jesus revealed deep things about her and preached to her which is seen in verses 16-24.
The Samaritan was flabbergasted by what had just taken place that she couldn’t hold her joy and told everyone about Jesus Christ.
5 Qualities of God’s love
1. It is sacrificial
The love God has for us is sacrificial and this is why Jesus Christ said He is the good shepherd because He gives His life for His sheep.
This statement is seen in the life of Jesus because He died for Us. He gave up His life for His sheep (us).
Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for His friends (John 15:13).
2. It is everlasting
The love of God is not going anywhere. The love of God is endless and it will always be there. From Romans 8:35-39, we are told that nothing can separate us from God’s love. The love of God is not something that comes and disappears the next minute.
3. It is Unconditional
The love God has for us is not based on anything we have done or will do. There is no requirement for God to love us.
God chooses to show His love for us even when we are not deserving of it.
It is not that we loved Him but He loved us first (1 John 4:19). We were still sinners when Christ died for us (Romans 5:7-8).
4. It is Redeeming
The love of God is redeeming because it was because of God’s great love for us that we got saved. John 3:16, informs us about how God so loved the world that He sent His only begotten son to die for us and whoever believes will not perish but have everlasting life.
5. It is Constant
God doesn’t show His love for us like a Chameleon. His love doesn’t change or become different. The love of God is constant in our lives.
